Customizing Your Tracking View
Tailor your nutrition dashboard to focus on the nutrients that matter most to you.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Your nutrition tracking dashboard shows all 65 nutrients with default targets, but you can customize the view to:
- Highlight nutrients you’re focusing on
- Hide nutrients you’re meeting consistently
- Change how data is visualized
- Adjust the time range you’re viewing
Pinning Nutrients
Section titled “Pinning Nutrients”Pin your priority nutrients to keep them at the top of your dashboard.
How to Pin Nutrients
Section titled “How to Pin Nutrients”- Find the nutrient in your dashboard
- Tap the pin icon next to the nutrient name
- Pinned nutrients move to the top for easy monitoring
What to Pin
Section titled “What to Pin”Consider pinning nutrients that:
- You’re actively trying to improve (e.g., vitamin D, iron)
- You need to limit (e.g., sodium, saturated fat)
- Are affected by a health condition
- Your doctor recommended monitoring
- You’re consistently under or over target
Example setup:
- Iron (if you’re anemic)
- Vitamin D (if you have low levels)
- Calcium (for bone health)
- Sodium (if managing blood pressure)
- Fiber (for digestive health)
Visualization Options
Section titled “Visualization Options”Choose how you want to see your nutrient data:
Progress Bars (Default)
Section titled “Progress Bars (Default)”- Shows % of daily target met
- Color-coded: green (on track), yellow (low), red (over limit)
- Quick visual scan of all nutrients
Trend Lines
Section titled “Trend Lines”- Graph showing intake over time (7 days, 30 days, 90 days)
- Identify patterns and consistency
- Spot nutrients trending up or down
Gauge View
Section titled “Gauge View”- Circular gauges for pinned nutrients
- Shows target range and current position
- Clean, minimal interface
Detailed Table
Section titled “Detailed Table”- Exact numbers for each nutrient
- Target, intake, % met, remaining gap
- Best for precise tracking
Switch views:
- Tap the view icon at the top right
- Choose your preferred visualization
- Setting applies across all devices
Grouping & Filtering
Section titled “Grouping & Filtering”Group by Category
Section titled “Group by Category”- Vitamins: All 13 essential vitamins together
- Minerals: All 15 essential minerals together
- Macronutrients: Protein, carbs, fats, fiber
- Amino Acids: All 11 tracked amino acids
- Other: Choline, water, caffeine, alcohol, energy
Filter by Status
Section titled “Filter by Status”- Below target: Only show nutrients you’re not meeting
- Above limit: Only show nutrients exceeding upper limits
- On track: Hide nutrients you’re already meeting
- Pinned only: Show just your pinned nutrients
Search
Section titled “Search”- Type a nutrient name to find it quickly
- Useful when tracking many custom nutrients
Time Range Selection
Section titled “Time Range Selection”View your nutrition for different time periods:
Available Ranges
Section titled “Available Ranges”- Today: Current day’s intake and targets
- Yesterday: Review previous day
- Last 7 days: Weekly average
- Last 30 days: Monthly trends
- Custom range: Pick specific start and end dates
Understanding Averages
Section titled “Understanding Averages”- Daily targets remain constant
- Intake is averaged over the selected period
- Stored nutrients are reflected in today’s status
Color Coding
Section titled “Color Coding”Platebreaker uses color to quickly communicate status:
Green (On Track)
Section titled “Green (On Track)”- You’re meeting your target
- Between 90-110% of target for nutrients you need
- Below upper limit for nutrients to minimize
Yellow (Attention)
Section titled “Yellow (Attention)”- You’re under target (below 90%)
- OR approaching upper limit (80-100% of limit)
- Consider adding foods rich in this nutrient
Red (Action Needed)
Section titled “Red (Action Needed)”- Significantly under target (below 50%)
- OR exceeding upper limit
- Prioritize addressing this nutrient
Gray (No Target)
Section titled “Gray (No Target)”- Monitor-only nutrients without set targets
- Custom nutrients you haven’t set a goal for
Dashboard Layouts
Section titled “Dashboard Layouts”Compact View
Section titled “Compact View”- Smaller cards, more nutrients visible at once
- Best for desktop/tablet
- Quick overview of all nutrients
Expanded View
Section titled “Expanded View”- Larger cards with more detail
- Better for mobile
- Easier to read individual nutrients
Split View (Desktop Only)
Section titled “Split View (Desktop Only)”- Pinned nutrients on left
- All other nutrients on right
- Monitor priorities while tracking everything
Exporting Data
Section titled “Exporting Data”Download Reports
Section titled “Download Reports”(Coming soon)
- Export nutrition data to CSV
- Share with healthcare providers
- Track long-term trends in spreadsheets
